HOOKERS - PHUKET/Patong Thailand

GUIDE only :

Use the information below as a guide only.

It will be helpful in getting you started.

I personally visit Thailand as much as possible , but not Patong/Phuket anymore. Updates below are based on proven reliable sources.

INFO very scarce on this rip off tourist/monger town called : Patong (Phuket).

Following is rough and not particularly up to date guide.

Phuket is NOT UPDATED ANYMORE (as from 1st July 2014) !!

 --

The original 1am curfew for nightspots , varies a bit from town to town , nowadays. But the authorities seem to focus mainly on the 'lewd' GoGo Bars. Freelancers on the street and Disco's seem to be able to circumvent the 1am curfew in most towns/cities , including Patong (Phuket). There are other establishments that 'bend the rules' , sometimes only temporarily , until they are caught up with. Thailands sex scene is ever fluid/spermatic : ) Hooker disco's usually close 3/4am nowadays.

----

Very few changes cause very little 'intelligence' on this place.

NOTE : Nowadays I do not visit Phuket/Patong , consequently most info below has been updated using proven scarce reliable sources. Volume of visiting mongers is small compared to Pattaya and Bangkok (prices too high , especially compared to Pattaya). And therefore 'intelligence' / info on this place rather weak.

Crime : Criminals seem to target foreigners in Phuket. Take care.

Terrorism : Over quite a long period , there have been a number of government warnings re possible terrorist attacks on Phuket. Nothing yet has eventuated.

Tsunami : Thousands , yes thousands of foreigners lost their lives when the infamous Tsunami hit Patong beach and surrounding area. Keep your eyes on the horizon , dont go to sleep on the beach : )

Beaches :  Patong/Phuket has always got nice beaches  : )

----

We are now slipping further down the slippery slope where choices are more limited compared with Pattaya and Bangkok. Phuket is Thailands largest island and a one and a quarter hours flight south of Bangkok. The nightlife activities in this town are divided into two. There is the Patong Beach area which is geared for the western traveller, whorists & tourists alike , and there is Phuket town itself which is tailored for the Asian clientele. Nov to Feb is the best weather and unfortunately , the most expensive time for accommodation.

Prices are higher than Pattaya and availability, by comparison, a bit limited, but still more than adequate for a few days reconnoitre. If your planning your first trip to Thailand you might defer going to Patong , as Pattaya and Bangkok have the capacity to satisfy you early on in your 'apprenticeship'. However, for those still curious about Patong/Phuket , here is the information I have at my disposal.

UPDATE : I have almost given up on touristy Phuket. Touristy is code language for 'rip off mentality'. Consequently some of the info below , will most probably be out of date. Even so , the info is more than adequate for a beginner/newbie.

Transport to and from Phuket  :

Tip : Skip train or bus , go by plane , info below ....

By Air from Bangkok -

Some of the following info might be out of date :

"All I know is the air fare to Phuket is not cheap around Baht 3500 or more return with Thai Air. Air Asia , Nok Air , or "1 , 2 Go" , are relatively new comers and should be much cheaper , check them out first. Make sure you are buying a direct ticket to Phuket that does not involve stopping at some other airport along the way. Some flights leave ex old Don Muang Airport , which might be an invonvenience for you.

To get the latest info and prices call in at any travel agent bangkok. One such agent I used last time I went to Patong/Phuket was Thai Overland Travel (TOT) , who are located at 407 Sukhumvit Road, between Soi 21 & 23 and therefore a long walk from the Soi.4 area. Alternatively, catch the Skytrain to AsokE4 Station (Soi 21). Phone (02) 2584778-80. 2589246-7 Fax (02) 259-6558. Email : todbul@a-net.net.th or todbul@ksc.th.com

Arrival at Phuket Airport :

The airport is modern with ATM’s ; Snack Bars.; Airport Info booth; commercial tourist info , but not TAT (TAT is located in Phuket town itself ) ; and a Limo/Mini Van service.

Take a free "Thaiways" Map from one of the commercial tourist info booths. It’s an important help for getting around.

Transport from Airport to Patong and the Nightlife :

Taxi , Yellow Taxis ....... On exiting airport turn to your right and you will see a hut with a 'Taxi Meter' sign. It'll cost ya Bt350 approx to Patong. This only applies when you insist he uses the meter , otherwise he will quote Bt500/600 or more. Plus you pay Bt50 Airport surcharge at the hut. All up fare around Baht400. Takes about 40 mins to get to Patong area. Alternatively you can purchase a more expensive Limo/taxi ticket at one of the booths inside the airport itself. Whoever you take , get the drivers calling card or phone number for when you leave Patong/Phuket. Difficult to find once your in Patong.

Tight Budget ex Airport :

Mini Bus/Van , Baht 180 but there can be delays such as 1. waiting for the mini bus to fill up with newly arrived passengers 2. dropping off passengers along the way 3. and finally the possibility your mini bus stops at a Travel Agency enroute , and asks all passengers to alight and make their Hotel bookings with that Agency (ignore). This last nuisance alone , can delay the trip for anything up to an extra 30mins ! Via van usually adds an hour to the trip.

On my last trip (long time ago) it took thirty five mins by air from Hatyai to Phuket then more than 2 hours from Phuket Airport to my accommodation in Patong by Mini Van. Take the taxi. If you want to cut costs, you might be able to chat a fellow arriving passenger to share the taxi to Patong.

Departing Phuket by Air -

To Ko Samui : Bangkok Airways only , at time I travelled. Address : 158/2-3 Yaowaraj Road Phuket. Phone: 76225033-5. It’s located to the side of the Merlin Hotel. Songthaew solo passenger (non share) Baht 150 one way from Patong Beach area. Bangkok Air charged me Baht 1870 one way , 35mins in the air. Expensive trip. Note - At the time of my travel , Thai Air did not fly this route. Maybe discount airlines ... Air Asia or "1   2  Go" airline fly there nowadays ? Airport Departure Taxi is Bt500. Alternative : Bus or Mini Van/Ferry to Ko Samui.

To Bangkok or Hat Yai : Thai Air Office is in Phuket : Ranong Road , Baht 300 round trip in Songthaew (solo passenger, much cheaper if sharing) Air trip much more : )

More basic info

re SEX with - HOOKERS - PHUKET/Patong Thailand :

Transport within Phuket itself :

Within Patong :

Communal Songthaews sim. to Pattaya except for price. Baht100 for short trips not uncommon. Bt2/300 for longer trips. Another reason why Patong/Phuket is not cheap. The same 100 Baht trip would cost only 10 Baht in Pattaya.

Small Honda Dream 100cc Motorbikes can be hired on a daily basis for approx Bt200 per day. Cheaper rentals elsewhere in Thailand. If taking for a week or more , try for Bt150 per day rate. Ask local girls how much they pay per day. Thats best guide.

Return to Phuket Airport : Prices might have inflated recently. Your Hotel should be able to arrange a Bt500/550 taxi (sedan) to the Airport. Think I caught a communal Songthaew (small pick up style taxi) to Airport for Bt300. I was the only passenger. If you knew of others leaving at the same time , it would be cheaper to share the Songthaew with them. The trip is about an hour , depending on traffic. The same vans that pickup at Airport also take passengers to the airport , of course. Airport Departure Tax was Bt500 on my last trip , most probably inflated by now.

Sex Hotels Patong (Phuket)    :

There are two prices : Tourist/high season and non tourist/low season. When I arrived in November , some places were already charging high season prices. Normally high season starts 1st Dec. finishes 1st March and then there is a high season again in July - August. In addition to high/low season , prices vary according to whims of management/owner. Another reason why I do not like Patong (Phuket).

Added to that , places are keen to charge extra for overnight guests (LON's). So, Patong/Phuket is truly touristy.

The currency quoted on this website is the Thai Baht. For conversion to your local currency refer to : xe.net/ucc

UPDATE : Accommodation notes below are a fair guide only.

Limited 'intelligence' / info on Patong accom nowadays (limited mongers). Prices might have inflated (tourist town).

C & N Hotel -

Location : Rat Uthit Road , handy to the action and popular with budget mongers. Website : cnhotelpatong.com , or , cnhotel@hotmail.com

Make sure you ask for a reply to your email , otherwise it might be ignored (not uncommon in Thailand ... difficult for them to write in English). Price varies from Baht500/600 (low season) to Baht800/1000 (high season). Check latest prices via email (above). Full sized double beds , free pick up at airport (but not free returning to airport : ) . No pool and no in room safe (safety boxes at Front Desk). Make sure they book you into their Hotel and not their Resort (out of town).

Budget Bangers should give this one serious consideration.

Expat Hotel -

163/17 Rat-u-Thit Road. Phone (66-76) 342143, 344023 Fax (66-76) 340300 Email: expat@loxinfo.co.th or : phuket.com/patong/expat.htm.

Finding it : If your in Soi Bangla, walk down to the corner of Rat-u-Tit Road (where Rock Hard a Go-Go is located) , turn left and then enter the first Soi on your right which is called Soi Sunset , and at the end of this Soi is Expat Hotel, right in front of you.

Price of a room : Suggest you email them and then print their quote out and take it with you to Thailand. Prices : Double , Fan, Standard Room Baht 690/840 ; Deluxe Baht 840/1040. Air Con - Dbl Air Deluxe 1190/1390. Take those prices as a guide only. In Patong they seem to quote different prices to dif. people. The real price could be less than what I have quoted. Friends say having overnight guests is no problem , but check this and the possibility of being charged extra for a gal , before you put money down.

Sansabai Bungalows -

171/21 Soi Sansabai, Rat Uthid 200 Phee Road. Phone (66.76)342948-9 Fax (66.76) 344888. Email : info@phuket-sansabai.com or : phuket-sansabai.com

Finding it : Coming from Rock Hard in Soi Bangla you cross over the road (Rat-U-Thit) straight ahead into the opposite Soi, (Soi Sansabai) to the end of that Soi , a few metres up , turn hard right and 50/75 mtrs at the end is Sansabai Bungalows.

Soi Sansabai , that is the street itself is ok, but after you turn right the last 75 mtr stretch looks like it would be a security risk late at night. Management said they have security patrolling that strip 9pm - 8am.

Price of a Room : Double Fan Room Baht 935 . Dbl Air Con Room Baht 1265 . These are low season prices and I believe inflated prices. I've heard of guys paying less than this. Overnight guests are permitted and there is no extra charge , but once again check this out before putting your money down on the table. I find it difficult to ask about ladies overnight if I am not actually going to check in.

Overall - Some like it , some criticise it for its uncleanliness and need for renovation. Only way to know if its' for you , is to inspect the rooms before handing over any money. A rather common procedure in S-Asia (inspecting rooms beforehand).

Summer Breeze Hotel -

Location : Soi Sansabai. Handy location. Sorry have no info on it , other than its a good one. Google it.

Orchid -

in Soi Sansabai Baht800 no problem and no fee re overnight guests. Very handy to nightlife and a little more superior to Sansabai's location. Forgot which side of Soi it was located on (most prob left).  Info : orchid-residence.com

Swiss Garden -

in Soi Sansabai , opposite Orchid. Baht500 no problem/fee with overnight guests. Worth considering after Orchid.

Safari Beach Hotel -

136 Taweewong Road. Phone (076) 340230-1/341170-4 Fax (66-76) 340231. Email : info@safaribeachhotel.com. Popular with those who want to spend a bit more money on accommodation.

Finding it : walking from Rock Hard Go-Go (c/r of Soi Bangla and Rat-U-Thit Roads) and heading towards the beach (away from Soi Sansabai) you come to the T intersection with Taveewong and Soi Bangla Streets. Turn right into Taveewong and Safari Beach Hotel is a short distance up on your right.

Air Double Standard Rooms (good) Baht 1000 Low Season to Baht 1800 High Season. Prices vary according to demand and season. I like set prices , you will not get that in touristy/rip off Patong/Phuket. Standard rooms are spacious and very good. They also have more expensive Deluxe Rooms.Excellent location, close to the beach (and tsunami : ) and the nightlife. They do not have fan rooms. Nice garden. Pool - didn't see it but believe , they have one. As far as I know they do not charge extra for overnight ladies , but check this out before checking in.

Huge upmarket Savoey (seafood) Restaurant , to the side of the same premises.

Acca Hotel - Gets mentions as a good monger hotel nowadays. Google for details.

Chanathip Guest House -

53/7 Rat-u-Thit Road, Patong Beach. Phone (076) 294087/294052. Fax (076) 294088. Its not in Rat-u-Thit Road itself but in a small soi which is almost directly opposite Pow Wow Pub.

In early November they were already charging high season prices : Air Double Room Baht 700 for an average smallish room. Not good value. Reasonably convenient location. Short-medium walking distance from the action. Had an overnight lady or two and they did not charge extra. Consider if desperate.

Short Time Sex Hotels :

Soi Sansabai -

is the Soi for Short Time Hotels. Around Baht 500 is the going rate. Cadillac Mansion were asking Baht 500 for only one hour. Suggest you reconnoitre this street and its numerous ST Hotels and find one to your liking before you actually need it. Personally , I ST and LT my chicks at my place of accommodation. Don't believe in paying for ST Hotels or extra at my accommodation , for overnight ladies.

Basic Restaurant Hotel info

re SEX with - HOOKERS - PHUKET/Patong :

Restaurants :

In general prices are on the high side , compared to other Thai towns/cities.

If you want cheap thai food , just as good or better than in the touristy nightbelt of Patong , you have to catch a local taxi away from the touristy area. Then your food will not be so cheap (taxi fare to and from : ) Exception : Number 6 Restaurant (see below).

Rock Hard Restaurant -

at the front of the Rock Hard Go-Go Bar (name change to : Rock a GoGo ?) . Corner of Soi Bangla and Rat-U-Thit. The Restaurant is out in the open, alongside the footpath in the heart of the action with lots of ladies passing by. I ate old fashioned fish and chips at Baht 190, which is not Thai cheap. Beer ok at Baht 60. Not a bad drink and perv spot. (Go-Go Bar , same property , even better perv and drink inside : ). Note : Long time since I have eaten there , things might have changed : )

Number 6 Restaurant -

Fifty metres from Rock Hard and around the corner (heading North) in Rat-U-Thit Rd, on the left hand side. This place is small but very popular , especially with foreigners. Open late at night. Worth checking out, especially if you want a cheap tasty meal in the early hours of the morning.

Open Air Restaurants -

200 (?) mtrs further North up past No.6 Rest on same side of Rat-U-Thit there are numerous open air Restaurants. You can’t miss them as folks approach you on the footpath with Menus in the hope of escorting you to their particular Restaurant within this maze of Restaurants.

The Hole in the Wall -

95 Rat-U-Thit Road. Coming from the c/r of Soi Bangla and Rat-U-Thit Rds (Rock Hard) it is quite a walk (7 mins ?) just past the traffic lights at the Soi Namyen and Sawatdirak Rds intersection on the right hand side (past Pow Wow) . Good Anglo Saxon (and Thai) food at reasonable prices. Family run Restaurant , with both smiley Husband Lee (brit expat) and Wife Gaye (Thai) on deck , making sure you get what you want (good food and service) . Best Restaurant for me. Worth the walk. Simple place with large screen Cable TV for news etc. From memory, think it closed at a respectable hour, so don't walk up there too late at night : ) UPDATE : It's a long time since I have dined there. Not sure if it will be there when you call.

Pizzeria Hut -

Standing on the corner at Rock Hard and looking diagonally across the intersection you will see Pizzeria Hut. It is also a good late night Restaurant but not cheap like the other late night Restaurants mentioned - No.6 Restaurant , for example. Extensive menu . I was pleased with the food , but it's not Thai cheap. Hole in the Wall for me. Can afford more Ladies that way : )

OK , you have got the right hotel , a feed , and now your ready to boogie ........ limited Patong (Phuket) Sexy Nightlife (info)  .... here we come !
