Visit to Butuan Day 1

Your information on Bauang is pretty good. But I have a few things to add. For easy travel there from almost any point on Luzon to Bauang you might want to try Len's Van Service. O.B.R. has its own Bar, the Butterfly. I found it to be the friendliest girly bar in Bauang and a lot of fun. Also the rooms are very inexpensive there and right on the beach. The food there is also cheap and tasty. You can buy fish and shrimp directly from fisherman and pay the cook 50 piso to cook to order. Just across the Highway from Ocean Breeze is Finnegan's the most comfortable restaurant/bar in the area. Finnegan's also has the best pool table in the area and a nice selection of fine dining at cheap prices.
 
I spent several days at the Ocean Breeze and enjoyed them all. The beach is clean and the water calm and clear. I bar-hopped the bars on Poro Point Road,(Pennsylvania Ave) and found a few gems. The Gayyem had a nice out nipa roofed layout with a good stripper show and cheap prices.
 
The most fun I had was on a Sunday night at Grandma's 3 music bar. Since Butterfly Bar is closed Monday in the off season, Jeff let me take 10 of the girls out after hours. Yes, 10!!!. We arrived at Grandma's about 11:30 and danced until after 3am. I paid drinks and snacks for all the girls and only had a bill of less than 2000 piso and left the rest for a tip. Beer was only 170 P a pitcher and tasty snacks about 150.
 
Poro Point is a great area for guys that like to travel in groups of 3 or 4. Since the scene changes often, the best idea is to get a trike at the National Hwy and tell the driver what you want. Pay his evening and invite him to drink with you. He may take you to a secret place where there is a very bold show that cannot be published on the net.
 
For beach lovers like me Bauang gives great value for your money. Up scale travelers might enjoy the Bali Hai. It has a superior restaurant and a real beachy feel; but no girls. Cheap Charlies can stay at the Koala and walk the few meters tothe beach. My personal choice will always be the Ocean Breeze. It has a family feel, reasonable prices, clean rooms and the very friendly girls of the Butterfly. Avoid the Japanese restaurant on Poro point road. It is not up to par.
 
There is a surfing area north of San Fernando, but I did not have time for it.

I just went to Bacolod for the first time in June and July '07. I wouldn't recommend it as a place to go mongering, but if you find yourself there, here are my suggestions.

I stayed downtown in the Bascon Hotel near the plaza. While at first it seemed there was no "action," as I began to hang out downtown I realized the place was crawling with LON. Look out, because many are underage. The going rate is 300 Pesos short-time, but --alas-- you get what you pay for. The typical LON has had a kid or two and is in a state of advanced metabolic meltdown, so be advised. I was also warned by a girl who works at a karinderiya (food place) there that the LON are notorious for stealing anything they can get their hands on once they're in your room, and she cited the case of a guy who got ripped off, big time, but was out of luck when he went to the cops. Welcome to the Philippines.

Also keep in mind that anything you do and any money you pay to any LON is common knowledge very quickly, so don't be surprised if tomorrow Marife expects you to pay the same 1,000 pesos you paid Juven yesterday for missionary, followed by doggy style, and ending with reverse cowgirl. Yes, it's that bad. You might as well take out a full page ad in the local newspaper broadcasting your antics in vivid detail, or post a video on youtube.com.

There is a girlie bar on Gatuslao just down from the plaza and not far from the church. One night I stumbled across a girl employed at the bar. This was after hours at the plaza. The best bet is a block over from the Bascon Hotel, at the corner of Luzuriaga and Locsin Streets. There's a girl at every corner, and they're far better quality than anybody on the plaza.

Again, these girls were not immediately obvious to me, but after staying there night after night I sort of stumbled across it. My guess is that many Filipino cities or towns are like this --a foreigner sees no action, but it's really there if you're in the know.

"I visit your site few times before traveling to Asia and find it very helpful in many aspects. I also noticed that info on Dumaguette in Philippines is outdated, so I want to update it for folks that planning to go there, probably accidentally as it is not very known consequently not a popular tourist place.Apparently this very same fact is very beneficiary for us.
To make a long story short, I had a great time there, maybe even the time of my life.
There is a go-go club recently opened, call "Checkers". You can find it asking the motorcycle driver. I hired one for the whole night (php120-about $2.50)), very advisable. It's fun place, very "happy" and a lots of young cheeks.
There is no problem to take one upstairs (php1500-2000) and/or give her your hotel location and she will show up there (for sure).
I ended hook up with two young girls in front of my hotel, not professional hookers and they were spending every night with me for five days. I also was seeing some others cheeks during the day.
Anyways, there is a plenty to do in Dumaguette, LOL.
Besides girls, there are a great diving/snorkeling spots, lakes and waterfalls in the mountains, so

It's only one hour flight from Manila or take a fast (6 hours) boat from Sebu. From Sebu you can also take a bus to the end of Sebu island and take a ferry across the channel. There are several hotels at the water front in the center of the city and several diving resorts in outskirts.

We can not see how mention of Chequers updates the website info , especially when we visited Chequers and found it a dog of a place , only worth mentioning to ward people off the place. To each his own , if it rocks your boat , then thats all that matters. It does not take 6hrs by boat from Cebu etc. Accurate detailed info is on our website , see our notes "Philippines Other Towns" , looks like poster has not read that stuff. Accom reco's on our website are a good guide , wharfside accom we inspected was next to horrible. The area we discuss on website is better for accommodation.

With Cebu Pacific airlines you can reach Bacolod within 30 minutes and 1000p from Cebu.
Bacolod is much nicer then Cebu and you can walk to the Sea and small beaches. Nice to Live I think.
At the Plaza FLs can be found which all look ugly and will be refuced at the (verry good) bacolod plaza pension. Happily I went to the pension with a girl of 25 yrs wo was just selling something but alsmost no English. a thick belly pregnancy and only ST did not make me happy the first night.
East of the cathedral a small sleazy street with a bikinibar (3000p)
At the the 21 street (north of the plaza, 1 jeepneyride) I found nothing to barfine.
At the goldenfield complex (south of the plaza, just 1 jeepneyride) a lot of bars had average looking girls which costed 4000p LT. During the week it was verry silent there so the entreecover was alwayes waved when i sad that I did not want to pay that. Standard drinks were everywhere 50p.

At Delgado street, close to the West avenue, a kind of Junquera area can be found .Best to take a taxi to show you the 2 mamasans, regretfull I had no time to invest this place.

Getting blown in Boracay.

Anyone who has been to Boracay in July knows that the wind varies between 'gusty' and 'typhoon', seasoned with the occasional torrential downpour. Yes, you will get blown in Boracay.

The upside of course is that room rates in the off-season are as low as PHP 1,000 for a decent place with AC right on the beach, and the relative dearth of foreign punters makes it something of a buyers' market when looking for that extra relaxation.

Some of the bars along the strip have a few girls in the evening. At Bamboo (Boat Station 2) I picked up a couple of delightful and very athletic girls at 2am on Friday night. A modest amount of persuasion got some girl-on-girl action going too, whilst I was pausing for breath.

There are a few evening offers of 'in room massage service' as you trot along, but IMHO just get straight alog to Cocomangas at Boat Station 1. Things really get going here after 9pm and on Saturday night I guess there were 150 freelancers ranging from 18-40 years old, and as high as 8-9 on my personal scale of fuckability. The asking price is PHP 2,000 but its the off-season and they will go for PHP 1,000 and we are talking long time here. The place closes at 4am but its quite a heavy scene, despite the very obvious security, and personally I would not recommend walking home, alone or otherwise.

So - Cocomangas - that's the place. Rates 8 out of 10 for an evening out, 8 out of ten for selection of girls. Now, where's the Viagra...?

I was checking out your site and noticed there was not much info about Bacolod. I was there late last year and am returning next week, so I thought I would give a quick update.
 
I never would have went to Bacolod for girls. But I do a fair amount of business in the Philippines and I go wherever the money is. I hired a young man to do some sales work for me who is from Bacolod (he works in Manila). He has done a great job for me. Bacolod airport makes most bus terminals look nice. I would hate to land there when it is raining. I stayed at the Convention Plaza Hotel. Nice place, pretty upscale but cool with mongering. The bars are okay if you just want to spend money and hang out. Barfines are hard to come by here, mostly ST rooms which personally make me nervous. Plenty of street action though, pimps on ever corner of the goldenfields "complex". Some of the girls are real lookers, some are okay, some look very young (makes me nervous again). I am a careful monger, I have a kid and a business. Enough said.

If you just go to the PI once or twice a year to monger, Bacolod is not a good place to go. It's about a thirty minute flight from Cebu , P1400. Accommodation - Golden Field Garden Hotel at the Goldenfield Commercial Complex (2kms from the Airport) is the best bet and not bad for its Restaurant either. You have the added bonus of a little bit of a bar scene in the same complex and there are two disco's : Quorum P100 entrance , less than a dozen hookers and Disco 2000 , P50 entrance and similarly stocked. Some reasonable hookers hanging around outside also. Roam around and you will dig up other spots. Not a dead town for chicks, but I prefer to stick to tried and true Cebu City , nowadays.

Nigi Nigi Noo Restaurant is worth a try. The place to scour for the limited supply of 'little brown bombers' that inhabit this island are the Disco's. "Bazzurra" or "Wave" Disco's have limited pick up possibilities. Also Moondogs and Cocomangos are Bars with pick up possibilities. During high season , say Nov - March there are more girls (and tourists who they serve) , but prices go up. Not an easy place to 'butterfly' , everyone knows your moves. As usual , keep an eye out for Ladyboys posing as chicks.

NOTE : I do not have any access to 'intelligence' on this place any more. Very little info and possibly outdated by now :

 

The Philippines one and only Alpine Resort town. Been there, done that. Any of the Philippines big four would beat it for sexcapades. Holiday retreat for wealthy Filipino's and thus expensive. Avoid March to May when the place is swamped with Filipino vacationers and thus accommodation is tight.

Transport - I've been both by bus and aeroplane and neither is all that safe. Air - the runway on the edge of a cliff is a bit scary. Big crash there a few years ago. A few whorists bit the dust. Costs about P1100 to get there , maybe more nowadays. March 2003 : Allow for inflation in air fares, might be P1500 or more by now. Bus ex Manila is P600 and takes 6 hours. Nice hairy trip up into the Mountains. Take a firm grip of your rosary beads :). You could also go on a bus via Angeles , but still a long haul up the mountain.

Accommodation - not cheap. Not a budget destination. Burnham Hotel 20 Calderon St is around P1000. 2. Baguio Hotel Ambassador, 25 Abanao Street P700. 3. Swagman Hotel, P1500 and up.(chicks no prob).

Restaurants - Session Road is a good place for Restaurants. Otherwise head for an upmarket Hotel eg Concorde Hotel or Baguio Palace Hotel and dine in their Restaurant.

Nightlife - For its size its not too badly off for rent-a-chicks. Be prepared to spend though. Not cheap. Shower Shows are popular but entrance fees, expensive drinks and P2500 for your lady. "Chapparal" is possibly the most popular one. Disco Bars - "Disc Capsule" has beautiful girls at b........l prices. Remember, to ask : "how much" before committing yourself . Other places - Star City, Strawberry Fields, Peekaboo etc. Some of these places might be out of business by the time you get there. Names change etc.

Girls in this town, like Makati, have been known to do a 'runner', ie, you pay all night and they knick off after one poke. No redress, your in a foreign country and the numbers are stacked against you. It takes the shine out of what is otherwise a nice little town.

Freelancers in limited numbers operate from Burnham Park , in the darkened area. Folk lore has it they are students who have to return to their nearby dorms by 6am. From my experience you will find , more than likely they are students of sex , spending too much time humpin and not enough time studying : ) Exceptions will alway exist , of course. Note - don't touch anything under 18yrs , extremely severe laws in the Philippines re such.

Try also Nevada Square and Session Road for Freelancers and pseudo students.

Baguio is a bright little star, but because of the 'attitude' of some of the girls I'm cool/cold towards it nowadays.

NOTE : I have very limited access to any 'intelligence' on this place nowadays. Very little info and possibly outdated by now. The following is mainly reliable second hand info.

You can get to Duma' ex Cebu on the 'Ocean Jet' for about P700. I have only listed this town to tell you I have been there, done that, and for whoring its a non event. Yes it is a College/University city chock full of smiling students who will make you feel like a movie star. But these same girls are not going to hop into bed with you at the click of a finger. If a guy tells you he was jumping into bed with College/Uni girls , be skeptical : ) Also be skeptical about trike drivers who say they can deliver to you College/Uni girls. The type of girls they know are sex students , regular pay for play girls , not genuine student/students.

"Why Not Bar" is the best place to start. Take away girls and possibly info from other foreigners. Think its on the Boulevard. Trike drivers know it. For Freelancers (LON's) , on 'patrol' , you could check The Boulevard. If you see a place with foreign males , it could be a FL spot. At least stop and have a chat with them. They might be able to tell you where the latest action is.

Rumour has it that Duma' has a small number of native style Go-Go's with average babes. Apparently a little out of town , near the airport. Ask trike drivers , they'll gladly take you out there. And there might be one or two in town too , ask trike drivers. No beauty queens employed : )

This is not a town for 'lookers' who will hop into bed with you. A Duma' looker will head for Cebu or Manila , away from prying eyes (friends , relations) and where she can earn real money.

Try lining up girls via website like filipinahearts.com/asianeuro.com before you arrive. Most will be regular girls looking for marriage not sex , but a small number might be 'open to offers' : )

Update on Boracay scene

Since there is not much updated info on Boracay, I will let you know about my recent experiences in the island. Contrary to what others have stated earlier on this site, there is a lot more action than I expected. The places for picking up girls are definitely the discos. Out of these, Cocomongas is the safest card. Loads of free lancers any night of the week. Quality is highly variable though. Best bet is to go there early, say around 9pm, sit in the bar and just look around and wait for eye contact. This way, you can chat to a few of the girls before deciding later on whom to take home. Or better yet, get a Philippine cell phone number and start handing it out to the ones you might be interested in seeing some other day. Philippinos love text messages so be sure to receive a lot of inspiring messages the day after. This is probably also the only way to get a girl in daytime or early afternoon. Otherwise the action is primarily between 11pm-5 am. I took up on one of these offers the following day. After some beers together at a more secluded bar and a walk on the beach, I finally invited her to my place. Had a really nice night together. Tipped her 2000 pesos, kinda pricy but I agreed considering she allowed me to take these pictures:

Suggested itinerary in Boracay:

Start the night at Cocomongas, sip some beers and exchange phone numbers. Around 12 pm, leave the place if you haven’t yet found anything you like. Later on the girlie boys start dominating the place. Better head off to Summer place by d'mall. The action starts late here, but there are more lookers than at Cocomongas. If you still have some energy left around 5am, there are some smaller bars in d'mall for picking up desperate girls that haven't scored yet. Might be hard to believe but these "leftovers" are a lot better looking than you might expect. If you still don't find anything you like, there is also a 24h call girl service operating from boat station 3 (036-288 57 99). They get to you really fast and provide good massage for around 300p plus another 700 for "extra services". Perfect on hangover mornings!

Wow!!!  Whew!! Just got home from a 3 week visit in the Philippines. Let me get to the meat of things with updates. Coron - spend 4 days there. not much to do if you're not a diver. only 2 places that i found for whore mongers to choose from - irene's and gwynn's.  irene's only had 3 women when we stopped in. nothing going on in there except a couple of local boys getting drunk and singing along with the videoke. videoke everywhere in that town! damn! restaurants, sari sari stores, the balut vendor, and even some of the tricycles had them. heheheh..... anyway, only 3 women in that joint! can you believe that?? 2 of them were ok. the other one should consider another career. an all night out with the girl is 1500 pesos. gwynn's is where it's at in this town. they  had at least 10 to 14 girls. some are sooooo young looking. hey insisted that they're 18 yrs old. i doubted it. hooked up with one for an all nighter cost of 1500 pesos. seems to be the going price in that town. 500 for the bar, 1000 for the girl. not bad. she spent the night, went a few rounds then sent her home in the morning. picked another girl the following evening. was called a butterfly by the other girls but no problem otherwise. it was all business and the girls seemed understanding about it.
