I was blown away when I finally visited the Philippines (or Asia for that matter) for the first time. It's a bit of a cultural shock for a Westerner to go there for the first time. Plus I went alone. Everything is very different. No set prices. Chaos, trash, poverty, bad smells - everything hits you all at once. And since you are white and locals know you got cash, everybody is all over you trying to give you their service for some money. Be careful about paying too much for taxi cabs, trikes, hookers, tips, hotels, etc. But after a couple of days you'll get the hang of it and get over your cultural shock.

I started off in Makati (Manila) on my first night. Stayed at the Primetown Tower Hotel where all the bars are. Went into a bar. Sat down and just gazed at all the beautiful girls in there. There were more than 20 girls and maybe 3 guys. Business has slowed down for them because of the terrorist problems. A girl who was not a dancer started talking to me. Her English was pretty good. (Most Filipinas speak decent English, but some are better than others). I bought her a couple of drinks. Then I said I was gonna check out some other bars. Walked around and was approached by a street hooker. She (or he?) had sort of a low voice. Good indication for a TV (transvestite), so I left "that" alone. Fields Avenue has been the subject of many previous field reports. Personally, i found the numerous go-go bars on the strip to be sad places. Angeles: stayed at the Wild Orchid Inn, very very nice property, if u dont mind blowing 2900 Pesos a night, certainly found it better than ABC for 4200 Pesos! Much better location.
The most happening places were Doll house ( only Go Go open 24 hours) , Camelot, Lancelot, and Blue Nile. THe typical beer bars are bad, with mostly 2, 3 variety girls. Not worth even a peep! All inclusive fee is 1350 ( LT) , It was all above board, no fear of cops or no new terms. But guess these places change very quickly. Royal Amsterdam hotel has some nice food, found Mo's also nice in the food department.
Just walking down feild avenue are couple of food joints, including a 7 Eleven. Nice places for freelancers. Got 3, 4 every day. SM mall was good too, though nice spots to sit and perv are just not there. Too much traffic!

If you want to get out off the city go to Subic Bay! A great beach, a lot of other travelers with the same interests and great service. Good place to stay is Mangrove resort. Basic rooms start at P2230 all nice and clean. Taking a girl is now problem and the bar is open 24 hours. A good restaurant is at Baloy just around the corner. About 5 min. with taxi is a nightclub Hollywood owned by a friendly Australian. The pimp lady is great, you can have a fun chat with here. Girls where LT P1250. A beer for you P50 not sure about a girl drink but a bit more.

Like sad before on this page if you come for the sex don't go to Manila, it doesn't have the best places and only a few. When you lend up in this place you are better of in LA Café, here you find students, which are there to make a few extra buck, they are nervous but that can be your taste. Hello Fellow Mongers.

Angeles City :

The main observation is that the 2 weeks I was there 31st March – 13th April, the place was very noticeably void of punters.
I was in Voodoo one night and counted 13 waitresses, even more dancers and 5 customers (including me and my mate)
Most of the bars I went in were very quiet indeed. Good for me and my mate, plenty of places to sit !

A manager of a bar said that after Easter its normally quiet so maybe that was the reason.
I ended up going the same girls I took out last trip. They were all pleased to see me ! This is probably a downside of going back to AC 3 times in a year, the girls don’t forget your face.

Another downside of this was I didn’t have to go out on the hunt which is all part of the fun really. So I missed that aspect of it but it was nice to have these girls as I knew what I was getting.

The Mamsans did seem a little bit more cagey about talking about barfines this time, probably due to raids that took place a few months ago.
There were no problems in arranging them but they seemed to total up the drinks bill and then write on the back the total inc barfine.
I don’t remember them doing this last time but it just seemed to me more “under the counter” this time.

Me and mate took 4 girls out and went on a bar hop with them. We went into the new “superbar” Atlantis and its very nicely arranged. A nice big couch on the 2nd floor was great for a mini party. But it’s not a bar I would go in looking for a girl cos its just so big and impersonal.

Had 4 nights in the Pacific Breeze and 5 nights in the ABC hotel. The PB was excellent as ever. Its my choice of hotel now in AC.
My first time in the ABC and it was nice but was it worth US$90 (now US$99) for the standard room ? No I don’t think so. The $75 & $85 rooms at the PB are bigger. The standard room was good. Seemed funny to have a carpet and the bed was very very nice. I still cant find a good pillow though ! But im always like that, Im gonna have to take me own next time. The kettle was a good addition cos us Brits drink a lot of tea. The food was good as well but expensive. I guess they think if your paying that much for a room then you don’t mind paying P395 for a burger. I did have the daily special, soup and pork tenderloin - which was P395. The baby back ribs special on Saturday was very nice. I think they were about P500. One word about the Aussie breakfast - Shite ! P380 + P80 for a tea. 2 Eggs, 2 stringy bits of bacon so small you needed a magnifying glass to see them, 2 chipolata sausages and 2 slices of toast. I just stuck all of that between the bits of toast and posted it down me neck.

We went down Roys Pub the next day for the make your own ENGLISH brekky – Superb ! It’s a bit further up Fields Ave but they do have a car service which we used a few times. Even texted the driver to pick us up after an afternoon session ending in Shannos. But the walk wasn’t too bad if your semi sober. So really my first and last time there at ABC but pleased I experienced it.

Subic Bay :

I also went to Subic for 4 days. I decided to take a girl from Angeles with me as I had read it was a bit hit and miss there. Stayed in the Arizona Hotel. Rooms were ok, probably a bit upmarket for budget bangers at around 2100 Pesos. Food there was good. Also they have Scores Bar onsite there and quite a few girls in there. None stood out for me but a good selection nonetheless.

Although the Arizona is at one end of town, its about 10 min walk until you come to the first bars – Escape and Club One.
About another 5 mins walk and you hit Oriental Rose, Broadway, Office, Midnight Rambler.

If Angeles was quite then Subic was even quieter. Overall the quantity and quality of the girls, for me, were lacking. I did see only a couple that I definitely would have taken out. But if your not that fussy then you can still find more than a few to keep you entertained. We was in The Office Bar around 2.30pm, just for a half time beer and there were only 4 girls in there. Most bars at night had 10 - 20 girls max.

Then 10 more mins walk till you come to Baloy Beach with Johans, Treasure Island & Kokomos. Had a good time on Kokomos floating bar, the girls were really friendly. Would recommend a visit there.

Felt sorry for the lads pulling on that rope to get you out there on the raft. Their hands were fucked. Still the 40 pesos tip (return) we gave them made up for that.

The main impression of Subic was that it felt nice to be out of the madness that is AC for a few days. The place is much more laid back, no pressure in any of the bars.

Well I didn’t set out to write as much as this, its just all flowed outta me. Its good to relive the memories…..

Hi All

Just a quick update on Angeles City, PH and my personnel opinion. (not everyones opinion). BF is not a good word to be using around town, people being picked up for even saying it and there are spies in the bars who work for the cops!! So be careful. Saying this though there is plenty of fun to be had!!! Main strip of Fields i think is becoming expensive. Good for a couple of nights and a blow out but your best move is to take a Jeepney or trike out onto Perimeter road a bit. Girls are more friendly and prices less especially for LD's (heard last night LD's in Atlantis are 250PHP-WOW). i will start with Fire and Ice good fun when the girls are on form, comfortale and clean place -go early as the girls get picked off quick. Oh sorry one place back up the street behind Dr. Holmes called Eruptions, new, clean and fun (try the golden shower). Next is Happy Rock, small but good to relax and chat. Now move up the road a bit and you have got some nice bars and good girls with reasonable prices and good Managers and Owners.(these bars are near and around the Clarkton hotel) Tartz is ok with a few good girls. Next is Roadies (Neil the owner is good lad) he also owns Stargate about 1 km up the road. Again this is new, spacious, comfortable cushion sofas and fun girls. You also know what you are getting as they wear a colour coded belt!! Red- Wrong week!!! White-Cherry girl!! Normal gold or Black- Fair Game!!
Next door to Roadies is one of the more fun going bars at the moment (just recovering from yesterdays antics) Lost In Asia or LIA for short. Small but fun, girls are very lively after a couple of drinks and less and less clothing is the game of the day!!! Phil the manager and Greg the owner good lads and sit and chat and get a few rounds in!!! LD's here are 100 PHP and the in word here is Blind Date which is there version of a BF!!! 1200PHP
Good fun can be had here for the price of a couple of girlie drinks!!! The other good venue is Mirrors inside the Clarkton Hotel. Bit pricy but have a good show every hour and some of the girls are DDG ( Drop Dead Gorgeous). Good location with a popular pool table. One of the few hotels who have an in house girlie bar!! Overall many new bars appearing but some are getting expensive, hotels are not cheap as well. As i suggested get out of the main strip a bit and you will have more fun. Do not forget this is the action of today, bars come and go as do the girls and the owners and managers. Everyday is another day in PARADISE!!!!!!
