I love you website, I went to patong with a fellow whorist mate of mine last year and ended up staying at the welcomeinn, they are owned by the same people who own "Patong Whiskey" which is just accross the road from the hotel.  Cheap sangsom only 180B a bottle LOL

The rooms were great and started at 1000B ( 1 king size bed) and 1500B for a superior room (which has 2 king size beds)
overnight guests not a problem and the managment great, I lost my keyto hte safety deposit box and thought "holy fucken shit these cunts are going to charge me heaps to change the fucken lock"  They got in the locksmith and it was only 200B, fucken chicken shit eh?

After Bangkok i flew down to Phuket. The main action area in Patong is SOI BANGLAS, which has hundreds of beer bars and a few gogo bars too. Hi I have just visited Puket on a "medical holiday"...dental work and obviously also partook of the the nightly tourist scene. All seems to be alive and kicking a year on from the "Wave" however i have nothing to judge it against in terms of previous travels.
           Go Go's- Only visited two in my travels Hard Rock and also Dragon. Although Pattaya has a reputation for being a huge brothel, there are a few dive shops of interest. My favorite is Paradise divers situated half way along the beach road after the Royal Garden Shopping Centre.

A days diving will cost about 2500 baht and for an extra 500 you can take your fair maiden.

The dive will include a couple of reefs and a wreck. The vis is not spectacular 10m - 20m but you may be able to see some sea snakes and a moray eels etc.

One of the best places in Thailand, and for that matter in the world is a dive off the Simmalian Islands, about 50 kms from Phuket, it is Isolated and very little in the way of commercialisation ie no bars.

But it is spectacular l, the vis is 30 -50 m and the dive is like a dream, caves wildlife sharks the fucking boloxs

Phuket has a couple of decent dives, a wreck three or four reefs one of them is pretty mashed up, and is well over dived OK if you need some training but other than that fucked - Ko Rachi try to avoid if poss.

The dive shops in Phuket are well organised, most are 5 star, and there are plenty. One I used was at the top of Bangala Road, but there are so many little to choose.

Phuket may be the best place for you to start, plenty of action - mostly catering for the younger person. So you can dive from 8:00 am - 6:00 pm and for the rest PARTY

Here's some info on Karon beach. There are about 25-30 beer bars there. Great
beach, too. Most of the girls are either to old or too new for Patong. The old
ones are harden working girls who should give it up but have no other way to
make money. The new ones usually speak almost no English but are a lot of fun
and usually have reasonable prices. Early in the evenings there is a lot more prettier girls checking out the punters. When they see what's happening for that day most head over to Patong.I've never done the nightlife scene in Patong so I can be no help
there. Travel on Thai roads scares me. I like Karon and always have a good
time there. Don't let the first paragraph fool you. There are still plenty of
fun girls in Karon you just have to look around a bit. Also, you have a shot
at fun with the tourists there. Karon is 2/3 tourist and 1/3 whorist. I like
to drink with the girls and play bar games and watch the reactions of
tourists when the hello girls drag them in.The standard bar fine is 200 baht. The New Friend Bar gets 400. I
think this is because I was a newbie the first time I was in there and didn't
know any better. I have since found out that the girls there get half the bar
fine so I don't mind as much. Also, the girls I've fined there are always
pleasing. I have taken two different girls there because the one from my
first trip moved back to Bangkok. I do not cause the girls loss of face by fining a different girl in the same bar. The long time fee is usually 1000 baht however I have paid 2000 a girl for the three way thing. Both were very pretty and young (early 20s late teens). I found the three way not as fun as
I thought it would be. I most have been over reaching. Short time fees are
500 baht and up. It is all negotiable. One night I didn't bring a girl back with me and the lady from a couple of nights before saw. See came knocking on my door to see if she could spent the night for free. See wanted to charge
her cell phone and the bar she worked at wouldn't let. She had no power wereshe lived. Of course I took her in, who am I not to help a lady in distress.
I gave her a little something in the morning and took her to breakfast.Of my three trips, the first I went as a tourist and became a
whorist. The second was only for a few days but was pure whorist. The third
was for a month. I sent a goal of sampling every bars wares like a good
butterfly. I think I covered most of them but not all. There are three main sois with beer bars. A fourth was about to open in October when I last had to
return to work. One is the main road thru the village to the traffic circle. This is were the New Friend, the Gun, the New Gun, No Name Bar and many
others are located. Either the Gun or New Gun was offering soapy massage in
the back. I cannot remember which. I did not take them up on it but fined the
bartender instead. It was a happy choice as she was an adventurous girl back
at the room. We did it on the roof top of my hotel. I had the top room of the
place and one of the features is a sun deck on top of the room. It is above
everything so no one could see us. It was a kickThe second area is down the soi to Eric's Cafe. Between Eric's and
the main road (maybe 150 meters) are 8-10 bars. Smaller places with fewer
cute girls. Although, I have met one or two gems there as well. Usually, they
speak little or no English and are just starting in the trade. The place is
sort of a testing area before moving on to Patong. I have had girls straight off the farm here. They still wear their traditional dress and don't look
like bar girls. It took me by surprise when I stopped in a bar to get out of
the rain. There were four girls in there and I bought everybody a drink. Five
minutes later Mamasan was telling me how the girl who spoke no English really
wanted to sleep with me. I asked the what the bar fine was and how much the
girl wanted. 200 fine and 1000 for the girl. I finished my drink and left
with her. This was 1400 hours and she didn't leave until noon the next day.
We only stopped screwing to go have dinner and then back to the room. I spent
a total of less than 1800 baht for 22 hours of fun and games.The third area is the next soi to the West. 20 meters away tops.
There is a big hotel at the end of the soi. Islandia I think. There are 6-8
bars down this soi. The bars are a little busier and have prettier girls, but
many of the girls wanted 2000 baht for long time. I settle with one for 1500
but she was a lousy lay. I'm not cheap but no need to inflate prices. If a
girl is really pleasing I always give them a nice tip for taxi money. This is
a polite reward for great service since everything in Karon is in walking
distance.I have always stayed at Eric's Karon Cafe's sister place the
Paradise Grill. Eric owns it too. These are great rooms for 1000 baht or
less. I recommend the place. The rooms are big with kick ass
air-conditioning. Great bath rooms all in stone work with showers for two or
three at a time. The staff is great and look after me like a family member.
One hang over they brought me chicken soup to my room because I missed
breakfast and thought I was sick. I didn't asked them they just did it. When
I told them I was just hung over one of the waitress stayed to look after me
anyway. It was good chicken soup. The staff have no problem with over night
guests and there is no joiner fee. All the rooms come with a lock box but you
have to bring your own lock. Just go to the store across the road and get one
for less than 100 baht. All rooms have cable TV most of it in English. The
bar girls really like to watch TV as most of it has Thai subtitles. There is
usually a discount on the room if you book for more than a week or are a
repeat customer. One of the waitresses husband will bring you from the
airport in aircon comfort for a 1000 baht. It's the going rate because it is
about a 45 minute ride as Karon is at the far end of the island from the
airport. The dude has a very comfy car and it's better to let somebody else
drive. Thai roads are dangerous places. In three trips I have seen three bad
accidents. This is a lousy average so I don't drive there.Gee, having run out of smokes I see I have rambled on quite a bit.
Sorry about that. I meant this to be concise but I failed. I hope this is a helpful e-mail and somebody will get some use from it. Bear in mind that Phuket is the most expensive place in Thailand. Maybe next trip I'll try
Pattaya.

1. 8th October 2002 ....."Spud".................Patong (Phuket) Reconnoitre

 

Note - this Report was first published as a "New Email" on 8th October 2002. "My time in Patong was spent in much the way as my first day. Tiger Entertainment is, I guess the new pick up bar to replace Shark Club. There is room for 6-7 bars in this building, but right now there is only 5. Upstairs is where the dance bar is. 100Bt will get you in and free drink ticket. When I was there the plce was filled wall to wall with small little
Thai girls and a few guys. So the pickins' was easy. I also checked out Schoolgirl A go-go. Nice place. A little small,though not as small as Flash go-go. I was there with a couple of my fellow whorists buddies and was havin a good time watching the girls do their thing on stage. If I remember right,
YD was 100, LD was 90, and the BF was 500. A pretty cheap night if you ask me. So this one small LON came up to me and we started talking about god knows what, like it really matters anyway. And she asked me if I would like to go back to my hotel with her. I started thinkin about it for about 2 seconds and I told her to wait cos I wanted to finish off a couple of beers
i had in front of me. Then she told me that if I BF'd her friend, I could have both of them. Well, those 2 beer went down really quick while they both went to go change. My friends were haveing a good time as well. But they only managed to get one girl each. I guess they can't handle more than one at a time. Anyway, away we went to my hotel. We all showered, which is very
important, and away we went. These girls were all over themselves and me. I
felt like I was in heaven, or Dubai again. Problem was they could only
stay ST. I was a little anoyed cos I wanted more fun. But they said they both
lived in Phuket Town and had to get back. Whatever. So I gave them 2K each
and sent them on their way. Doesn't matter anyway, made up for it the next
day and night.
I went back to Christian Mass. when I woke up at around 3pm. I guess I was
tired or something. Anyway i picked my girl like last time and away we went.
It was just as good as the first time I went there. By the time I was
finished and left it was gettin near time for some grub. i had some local
meal at one of the little places on the strip and was impressed on how good
it tasted. Batteries charged up and a pocket full of Bhat away I went again.
I closed up at some beer bar on Soi Easy and picked up some other LON. I
didn't waste time thinking about it, so away we went to my room for a ST.
After some fun with her, I went to Rock Hard to say good bye to the manager.
He tells me that I can have any girl(s) I wanted and not have to pay the BF.
So I took 2 more back to my room. You know, 2 girls are way more fun than 1.
I know when/if I ever get back there I have to go for 3 or 4. Why? 'Cos you
gotta have goals. Since this is a very easy thing to do in Patong, why not.
So a nice fun shower later with the 3 of us away we went to my bed. A few
hours later, after nearly having my fill we shower again. Since i had a
real good time with them I gave them a little extra than I normally would. I
think I gave them 3K each. Vhallaha is closed, but you can still rent rooms and book private parties. I don't know if its colse cos its the off season or for whatever other reason"...................SpudPS: Tiger is right on bangla road. If you go pass a place called Hooters where they have some kickboxing, then you've gone too far. Can't really miss it, they have a big tigers head, sort of, on the front of the building plus a 5 foot sign that says tiger.
