ANGELES City - Basic Restaurant Hotel info
re SEX with HOOKERS
GUIDE only :
Use the information below as a broad guide only.
It will be helpful in getting you started.
I personally visit Philippines as much as possible , and then update the info below. Otherwise updates are based on proven reliable sources.
"Reviewed" (below) means info re-read and adjusted where necessary.
UPDATES : Reviewed June 2010
Angeles is the the go-go/show place city of the Phils. For me its more exciting than Manila. And happier better attitudes too : ) A 'meat inspectors' paradise .. skimpy dressed girls everywhere. You will be flat out fulfilling your inspection duties here, there are just too many bodies to check out. I dont think anyone has done a head count of the number of bars/show places in Angeles... it must be 100 or more , who knows. Simply put , too many for any one person to check out on a three week vacation , thats for sure. And lots conveniently located near each other , especially in Fields Avenue. You can walk from one to the other all night long.
Some places have a hundred or more girls employed , others less. Big places , small places and others in between.
All the activity is located in Balibago. Angeles itself is 2km away. But we always refer to the action area as 'Angeles' . I doubt if there is a town of this size , anywhere in the world, that has so much temptation in so small an area.
When to go ? : High Season is : October - March approx. April to August is approx low season , with June July wet season. September things start warming up again. Some girls absent themselves during Xmas to visit family back home (far away provinces for some). Also on New Years Eve and day , they might absent themselves a bit to celebrate with close friends/family. June/July I would not expect too many good looking girls hanging around (lack of customers) , but it never gets dead in Angeles , even in wet season. The girls have to eat and pay rent , regardless of the season or weather : )
MAP
: Check www.acmap.com, and or ,
TRANSPORT: Even though it's a dustbowl of a town (mud pit in wet season) , if your a Go-Go/Show Place phile , I'm confident you will say Angeles is worth the effort . You can travel direct to Angeles from the Manila International Airport by taxi , arranged Angeles pick up service , or Swagman bus service. Or ex Manila itself similar services.
GETTING TO ANGELES .......
AIR to Angeles itself :
Cebu Pacific Air (CPA) fly in from Phil domestic airports (and even Bangkok) to nearby Clark airport. Purchase tickets within Phils at local Phil ticket Office , online , or standby at Bangkok Airport. But CPA are inclined to cancel international (eg Bangkok) flights to Angeles (Clark Airport) etc. Do not normally accept credit card payments either. Crazy but true. The taxi fare from Clark airport to Angeles accommodation costs P300 , quite exhorbitant for the short trip involved. Alternatively Swagman have a van service for same price. Or you could wait around for a Jeepney , but expect to pay more than the average Jeepney fare. I am guessing , with bags , you will have to pay around P15 , but driver might charge you more for your bags , if your bags take up needed seat space. Lot cheaper than taxi/van , but a hassle just the same. For Fields Ave type of accommodation you have to get off Jeepney between SM Mall and Fields Ave. You then have a 5/10 min walk with your bags to Hotels. If me , I would avoid hassles and pay the exhorbitant (for Phils) P300 for a taxi/van , IF I arrived at Clark Airport by air. Most guys travel to Angeles via Manila (taxi , bus , van).
On leaving Angeles and returning to Clark Airport , you will see opposite Jollibee , a queue of both Jeepneys and Taxis (hopefully : ) Jeepney marked 'DMIA' or 'Airport' , anyway , just ask. Otherwise arrange through Swagman Hotel Angeles for a van to the airport (P300). Alternative to all this ....
OTHER ways of getting to Angeles :
Direct ex Manila Intl Airport/and or Manila City (not Airport itself) , is the usual way of getting to Angeles :
BUS : From Manila Airport to Angeles ...
Check Swagman website www.swaggy.com and see their schedule (van) for picking up at International Airport Manila (P300 to their Manila Hotel and bus).
Currently times from Swagman Hotel Manila itself to Angeles (P600) are : 11:30am ; 3:30pm. ; 8/8.30pm. Confirm times via internet. Note : returning from Angeles to Manila , Swaggy will call at your Angeles hotel and pick you up. Check their schedule ex Angeles and schedule of their van ex Swagman Hotel Manila to Terminals at Manila Airport. On arrival from Angeles they will drop you off at their Manila Hotel then you will purchase a P300 van ticket to any of three Manila airport Terminals. Will the van schedule get you to airport in time ? If not , catch a taxi outside Swagman Hotel (P200 = fare and a reasonable tip).
Presuming the van and bus coincide with your arrival at MIA that is the way to go. Manila to Angeles takes about 1.5 to 2hrs , depends if your arrival at MIA involves peak hour traffic. If Swaggy van pick up at Airport does not coincide with your arrival , take a Yellow Cab (see info Manila Basics page) to Swagman Hotel or wherever.
Swaggy will drop you near or at your accommodation in Angeles. See below accommodation options. If your arrival does not fit Swaggy schedule then you might decide to stay overnight at their Hotel , and motor on to Angeles following day. Alternative would be to make arrangements with vehicle pick up service ... see below .. to pick you up at MIA and then off to Angeles , without delay. Quicker , more convenient , but P2500 this way.
Southern Cross Hotel Ermita Manila ... has now started offering limited bus service to and from Angeles. Note 'limited' to one bus per day at 3pm. Google it if curious. Located very close to Swagman Hotel.
VEHICLE PICK UP Service : Check with hotel of your choice (see Accommodation below) and see if they offer a pick up service at MIA (Manila Airport). This will set you back P2500/2700. Alternatively try any of the following well regarded pick up services ....
The ville (Maragarita Station) - Offer a pick up facility on www.theville.com (for latest prices) Phone : 63-45-892 6547/63-45-322 0354 (045 if calling from within Phils). They will meet you at Manila International Airport and take you direct to Angeles with the minimum of hassles for P2500 (car) - P2800 (van) , incl. tolls (check via their website). You can request them to bring drinks , and sip away whilst your vehicle heads for Angeles. The trip takes about 1.5 to 2hrs , traffic permitting.
Orchid Inn - listed below as a very popular Hotel in Angeles. Also providing a vehilce pick up service , but maybe only for their guests ? Perhaps book with them in lieu of the ville (above) , approx same charge as the ville (above) incl. tolls (check via their website). Normally they do not provide drinks en route. Check : www.orchid-inn.com (or maybe : orchid@datelnet.net) ..However , for this particular type of service , the ville has a slightly better reputation.
TAXI outside MIA (Intl Airport). You can buy a taxi ticket , but it will cost you a small fortune to Angeles , I should think. See Manila Basics page , Arrivals , for details about taxi tickets. Alternatively a Yellow Cab , but once again an expensive way to get to Angeles (Info on Yellow Cabs in Manila Basics page). Personally I would not catch a taxi from Manila Airport to Angeles. Offer P2000 if you do. You dont know if you will get a good driver or not , condition of his vehicle for 100kph highway trips etc. Regular taxi drivers work 24hrs , most without sleep , not good. Sit in the back seat , not the front seat which locals call the "suicide seat" : )
Catch a taxi within Manila City itself ? But you do not know the condition of these old taxis , brakes etc. Not for me : )
TRANSPORT WITHIN ANGELES itself :
From the local airport you can walk a distance (300mtrs ?) with your bags and catch a P10 Jeepney , or take one of the closer air con Jeepneys for P30 to Clark gate and/or SM Mall. Prob with this you then have to catch a P70 trike (motorbike taxi with bench seat) to your specific Hotel. There is also a public bus service between airport and bus terminal at Dau. Once again you will have to get a trike from Dau to your specific hotel. More convenient , catch an airport taxi to your specific hotel for P300.
Within Angeles - you will be at the mercy of the busy little bees/mosquito's, the motorbike three wheeled taxis, called tricycles/trikes. They feed off tourists and some of them can be quite cheeky. As with regular taxi's , try and find out from some one else, before you approach a trike driver as to what the fare should be to your intended destination. Do not embark until the driver agrees with your price. A short trip should cost P50 (they ask anything up to P100 : ) , on average other trips cost P70.
Ignore any and all other 'offers' by trike drivers. It will be a rip off. No card games , no 'special places' etc etc. Ignore all offers. Just direct to your destination , no diversions/dalliances. Jeepneys are also available for some trips, but beware of pickpockets when riding this form of transport in Angeles, or anywhere else in the Philippines for that matter. Locating them can be a problem/walk , sometimes. Average fare P6/8 (short trips). Alternatively you can hire a honda 100cc motorbike in Fields Avenue on a daily basis for about P120/150 (at time of print). Lots of accidents in Philippines , so take care , especially when under the influence. You will pay dearly if you have an accident , and YOU the foreigner will be in the wrong every time , regardless. Stay cool if involved in an accident , otherwise you might be beaten up : )
After this info , do not become paranoid about travelling around Angeles. If a Filipino is a thief , he is usually a cheeky/gentle thief compared to the ones we can come across in the Western world. Exceptions will always prevail of course ................ be alert , but not paranoid : )

Accommodation info re
SEX with HOOKERS - ANGELES City Philippines :
ACCOMMODATION : in Angeles is ok.
If you have no choices of your own , you might like to try one of the following
the first night and if not to your satisfaction move around on your first morning
and find something better. There is adequate accommodaion to choose from. Dont
forget the basics for checking in to accommodation. Thailand notes and Manila Basics notes covered that
adequately, so I wont repeat all that again here. Main thing , have a look at room before handing over any money. The
currency quoted on this website is the Filipino Pesos. For conversion to your
local currency refer to : www.xe.com
balibago.com is a source of information for accommodation in Angeles.
MAP : Check www.acmap.com
Here is a brief list.
Not confident prices are still current. Need to 'google' to get latest rates.
If me , I would select from any of the first five (5) listed below .......
1. Orchid Inn - Convenient location for Fields Ave sex scene. Overnight girls no problem. Good Restaurant they say. I have yet to eat there. 109 Raymond St Balibago (Angeles) but I entered in Real Street (its on the corner of both streets). P1600 to P4500 rooms. Most rooms in P2500 range. Buffet breakfast available. Phone 63-45-892 2403/2653. (045 if dialing within Phils). Book in advance to be sure of getting a room. (check latest: www.orchid-inn.com) . If you want to pay more , see Update , below (ABC Hotel).
2. Swiss Chalet P1500 to P3000. Gloria Street. Close to Orchid Inn .. Wild Orchid Resort ... Anchorage Hotels. Same area. And so very close to the action , book in advance. Website/bookings : swisschaletph.com
3. Wild Orchard Resort : A Santos St (Blow Row) and therefore also close to 1 and 2 above. Handy location , 2 min walk to Fields and girlie action. Looked nice , didnt check rooms. Popular with big spenders. P3900/4500 as a guide. If booked out , try Pacific Breeze located behind Wild Orchard.
4. Kokomo's in Fields Ave on corner of A Santos St (Blow Row) and therefore close to all five (5) places of accommodation listed here. P1200 small number of rooms. Extremely convenient location. You'll need a reservation , google for Kokomo's. I stayed there one night , ok for me. Budget accom.
5. Anchorage Inn Hotel , Real St , P1000 and possibly up. Budget Bangers will get value from this one. Close to the action. Very basic budget. Floor at entrance was all broken up when I visited the place. Rooms themselves bit smallish but clean and adequate. I would call this one 'low budget'. Girlie places to left and right of the building. Overnight girls no probs. Anything goes hotel : )
----
6. Clarkton Hotel, Don Juico Avenue, P1500 to P3000 rooms. Problem : Getting to and from action area. Popular. Buffets available. Not walking distance to sex action. Clarkton Shuttle Van (free to residents) to and from hotel every 30 mins to 3am , I believe. That helps. Bring a van load of girls back to the hotel. But if vehicle not there when you want it you get involved with the trike driver bandits : )
7. Oasis Hotel , at the end of Fields Avenue, P1500. P50 + tricycle taxi to the action. Therefore not for me. I like convenience.
8. Central Park : "Good location , completely remodelled P1400-P2000". May 2010 I did not come across it , and therefore could not confirm "comments". Website : centralpark-ac.com
9. ABC Hotel P3000/4500 as a guide . Popular. Pool , gym , free shuttle. Not close to action.
10. Pacific Breeze U$50 well regarded. Good location. Website : pacificbreezehotel.com
11. Lewis Grande is a relatively newcomer for big spenders. Not close to the action , some distance away. P5000/7500 as a guide.
12. El Cheepo alternatives : Niagra (not Viagra : ) Hotel , Santos St , P400 Air Con ; Vistillana Hotel, Charlotte St, P400 Air Con. Other budget Hotels - Endeavour Lord Hotel P750; Sunset Gardens close to Endeavour P850. Note : I do not have updates on these el cheepos. Can not guarantee info re them nowadays.
Accommodation info generally : Suggest you have a look at the information and reservation facility offered on www.theville.com They are residents of Angeles and therefore are in a better position to advise you re accommodation. Alternatively , try : www.balibago.com/where_to_stay.html
RESTAURANTS:
There is no shortage of respectable Restaurants that cater for foreigners.
MAP : Check www.acmap.com
A small sample , not in any specific order :
Convenient ....
1. Restaurant in any of the first four places listed above (accommodation) , viz :
Orchid Inn , Swiss Chalet , Wild Orchard , Kokomo's (breakfast).
Others ....
2. Margarita Station, long established place. A little away from the Show Places but still in Fields Ave. Short walk from Kokomo's. Nice food they say (I didnt try .. too lazy ... like more convenient location).
2. Clarkton Hotel apparently has a nice breakfast buffet. But its a trike ride away.
3. Molly Malones , located in the Blue Nile Executive Hotel. Apparently good for buffets.
4. Hole in the Wall , for big steaks at a good price etc
Thanks to 'Mike' for updates re Restaurants.
CHANGING MONEY: Money Changer : Mongers say ... "Norma's best (reliable honest). On Teodoro , 1 block Sth of Fields". Cash U$100 notes are king , best rates. Only bring notes in good condition , no scribble , tears etc. Travellers Cheques are not so easy to change and attract a lower rate. Try Margarita Station (see Restaurants above) for TC's. Cash Advances on Credit Cards are charged a minimum 4% and possibly as much as 8 - 10 % surcharge. Current Intl exchange rates : www.xe.com ..... Myself personally , I arrive in Angeles with enough cash (pesos) for my stay , so have not personally tested out any of above info.
INTERNET CAFE: Walk along Fields towards Margarita Station and you will see at least two on right hand side. Small but sufficient. 24/7 the one I used .. 7/11 on opposite side of road. Also At the back of Maragarita Station (Cafe/Restaurant) , also at Ricks Cafe.
Now to the naughty side of things, Angeles Nightlife.
